- Do you transmit claims electronically?
We submit electronic medical insurance claims to all carriers that accept the standard professional (837 P) and institutional (837I) formats. We submit directly to most major payers and submit more commercial payers through Emdeon (Web MD).
- How do we get our information to you?
If available we prefer to get information via an interface from an in-office clinical systems. If clinical information system interface is not available we can receive information in any electronic means. We can also work directly with printed medical order forms, for example, lab requisitions or Dr. office super bills.
- Will you file our claims to secondary payers?
Yes, all subsequent claim filing, either refiling to the primary or filing to a secondary payer is included in this service..
- Do I need special software for you to do our billing?
No, you need a computer with high speed internet connection in order to directly access your patient billing information.
- How can I be sure the claims are submitted on time?
We will provide you with necessary reports to validate any aspects of what is being done with your charges, In the case of claims filing you would quickly see large jump in AR if they weren't being filed.
- Do I have to sign a contract?
Yes, we feel that any professional service relationship requires some type of formed agreement that defines the services to be performed, reimbursement requirements and other expectations of the parties. We do provide the agreement to be terminated easily with out any early termination fees.
- How much do you charge?
We charge a competitive flat percentage rate of receipts as full fees for Softactics to provide complete medical billing including patient demographics, charge entry, insurance filing, printing patient statements, posting payments, producing monthly management reports and collection services if needed.
